Generation Next/Teen Revolution

The Objective of our children's/youth ministries is to move every child or adolescent through our spiritual transformation process during their most formative and influential years so that we are producing the next generation of spiritual, financial, political and social leaders.

Advancing Academically - This ministry, sponsored by The B.R.I.A.N Group, is a requirement for our children and youth who are below a B- grade average. This opportunity is available each Tuesday from 6pm - 8pm. Transportation is available.

Read & Rise - The vision of our congregation is that each child and youth's reading level be at least parallel to their grade level. Weak literacy skills, shown by many urban youth, are a direct reflection on their success in school, college and work. Read and Rise is a unique program that mobilizes parents to take control of their child's success and become promotors of early childhood literacy through materials like how-to-guides, magazines, and workshops.

Spelling Bee - Focusing on education, the purpose of this program is to ensure that our children and youth are competent in the area of spelling. The church offers three (3) spelling bees every year for ages 6-12.

Bible Study - Each Wednesday are children and youth are in an in-depth bible study that targets issues facing our youth through a practical and scriptural conversation.

Mission Projects - Each year during the month of June our youth are engaged in serious mission and ministry. This is offered for our high school students only.

Kids Rock- During our 12-noon at the World Baptist Center, children's church is offered for ages 4-12.

True Love Waits - True Love Waits challenges teenagers and college students to make a commitment to sexual abstinence until marriage.

Chess Club - All kids can benefit from chess. Kids may see it as just a game, but research has shown that chess enhances scholastic abilities including test scores. This of it as "exercise for the mind", a fun way to practice concentration, patiences, logic, and mental calculations.

Bible Bowl- The vision of the Senior Pastor is that all our children and youth are Biblical competent. This event takes place the fourth Saturday of odd months.

College Prep- It is a necessity that our high school students attend secondary education. Therefore we offer routine ACT and SAT preparation courses during the semester prior to testing.
